Because we are endeavouring to source our ingredients locally and organically where possible, our daily/weekly specials vary with availability and season. We have a strong vegetarian menu which offers a fabulous choice to the non-meat-eater and not forgetting the meat-eater, we also offer fantastic regular meat dishes and specials.
Cauliflower gratin with sundried tomatoes and topped with crisp parmesan breadcrumbs, served with crunchy garlic potatoes
Mushroom ragout on ciabata crust, topped with poached duck egg
Leek and Kentish cheese crumble with new potatoes and puy lentils
Beetroot tart in a lightly spiced crust with mixed leaf salad
Three cheese baked custard with granary bread and mixed salad
Free range egg mayonnaise on a bed of shredded salad, topped with mustard and cress and paprika, served with warm cheese scone
And many more daily/weekly changes, including stuffed aubergines, mushroom tartiflette, crisp fried leeks with marinated peppers and herbed crème frâiche, vegetable tagines etc. …and for the meat- and fish-eaters amongst us:
Rich steak, mushroom and ale pie in a butter short crust pastry with gravy and chunky chips
Slow cooked ham hock with braised vegetables and lentils and crusty bread
Beef hash topped with a poached egg and served with red cabbage
Spiced crisp coated chicken with a fattoush flatbread salad
Smoked fish tart with a tossed salad
Garlic and chilli spiced moules with crusty bread

Our Sunday lunch menu always includes a roast meat, a nut roast, and a butter roast chicken dish and when possible a seafood platter.
